Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On November 27, Leapmotor put the Lafa5 model onto the market in China, introducing five variants priced from 97,800 yuan to 121,800 yuan, with a limited-time introductory range of 92,800 yuan to 116,800 yuan. The model marks the brand's latest push into the mainstream compact new energy vehicle (NEV) segment, where competition has intensified sharply in recent years.

The Lafa5 adopts Leapmotor's latest family styling, with a more defined, performance-oriented stance. A full-width headlamp assembly and slim tri-segment LED daytime lights give the front end a clean yet aggressive appearance, complemented by gloss-black accents and aerodynamic intakes that heighten its sporty feel. Six exterior colors are available, including yellow, grey, blue, pink, silver and black.
Leapmotor will also release a more aggressively styled Ultra edition—equipped with exclusive exterior elements—in the second quarter of 2026.

From the side, the Lafa5 features a flowing profile with blacked-out window trim, matching mirrors and flush door handles for a more contemporary look. The 19-inch multi-spoke wheels and subtly flared arches add a muscular touch. At the rear, a slim full-width LED light bar enhances visibility and brand identity, while the roof spoiler and darkened lower bumper create a more layered design. The model measures 4,430 mm in length, 1,880 mm in width and 1,520 mm in height, riding on a 2,735-mm wheelbase.

Inside the cabin, the Lafa5 emphasizes simplicity with a modern layout and three interior color choices: purple, grey and a sportier racing grey for higher trims. The seats combine leather with suede-like microfiber and include embossed racing patterns exclusive to the model. Technology highlights include an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster and a 14.6-inch center display powered by Qualcomm's 8295 chip, along with automatic climate control, voice-command functions and 50W wireless phone charging.
The model is available with two motor configurations: a higher-output 160-kW version capable of 170 km/h, and a 132-kW version with a top speed of 160 km/h. Buyers can choose between two LFP battery packs—56.2 kWh or 67.1 kWh—delivering ranges of 515 km and 605 km respectively under China's testing cycle.
