China's sodium pyroantimonate assessed production in November is expected to increase by about 6.3% MoM [SMM data]

Published: Nov 27, 2025 14:46

According to SMM assessment, China's sodium pyroantimonate first-grade production in November 2025 is expected to increase by about 6.3% MoM. After a significant rebound in September and another notable decline in October, November production has risen again noticeably, leading many market participants to speculate whether the peak demand season is approaching as year-end nears. Some producers indicated that after the second half of November, antimony prices gradually stabilized and saw a sharp rebound. Amid market fluctuations, this has also contributed to an increase in sodium pyroantimonate orders to some extent, with strong bullish sentiment among end-users promoting restocking behavior. In detail, among the 13 surveyed subjects by SMM, 3 producers were idled or under commissioning in November, 5 sodium pyroantimonate producers saw some growth in output, while 2 experienced a decline. Consequently, overall China's sodium pyroantimonate first-grade production increased significantly in November. Market participants expect that national sodium pyroantimonate production in December is likely to continue rising compared to November. If the market enters the peak season as year-end approaches, it could lead to a substantial production increase.

Note: SMM has been releasing its assessed national sodium pyroantimonate production since July 2023. Benefiting from SMM's high coverage rate of the antimony industry, the survey covers 13 sodium pyroantimonate producers across 6 provinces in China, with a total sample capacity exceeding 86,000 mt, achieving a coverage rate of up to 99%.

Recently, China's manganese-based battery materials market has been characterized by cost-driven divergence and gradual demand recovery. Battery-grade manganese sulfate and trimanganese tetroxide have strengthened on the back of rising raw material and freight costs; electrolytic manganese dioxide remains stable; and lithium manganate is steady amid volatile lithium carbonate prices, awaiting a demand rebound in April.
