Ferrari's First EV Model Castings Made from Recycled Aluminum

[SMM Express] According to reports, Ferrari has unveiled the production specifications for the chassis and components of its new electric vehicle. Named Elettrica, this EV is the company's first fully electric model in its history and a key element of its multi-energy strategy, which covers internal combustion engines (ICE), hybrid electric vehicles (HEV), plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEV), and all-electric powertrains.
It is reported that the chassis and auto body of the Elettrica will, for the first time, be manufactured using 75% recycled aluminum, entirely designed and assembled in-house by Ferrari. The battery is integrated into the vehicle floor, lowering the center of gravity by 80 millimeters compared to equivalent ICE models. A global structural approach is adopted to reduce weight, with the battery pack encased in an aluminum shell structure.
