【Zhejiang Launches 25,000-Ton Battery Recycling Project】

Recently, the Ecological Environment Bureau of Anji County disclosed the environmental impact assessment information for the "New Energy Lithium Battery Resource Optimization, Grading, and Recycling Project (25,000 tons)" by Zhejiang Company. The project is located in the Lingang Industrial Park, Meixi Town, Anji County, with a total investment of 350 million yuan. Construction includes six standard factory buildings, one five-story office building, one equipment room, and other structures. The facility will be equipped with one waste lithium battery saltwater soaking discharge line, two waste lithium battery crushing and recycling lines, and two waste electrode piece crushing and screening lines. Upon completion, the project will achieve an annual capacity of 25,000 tons for the optimized grading and recycling of new energy lithium batteries (including 20,000 t/a for crushing and recycling waste lithium batteries, and 5,000 t/a for crushing and screening waste electrode pieces).


【Progress on Shandong Jining 150,000-Set Power Battery Recycling Project】

Recently, the environmental impact assessment document for the "Green Dismantling, Energy Saving, Emission Reduction, and Recycling Project for Vehicle Power Battery Packs" by Shandong Company has been approved. This new project, located in the Jindong Industrial Park, Gaohe Street, Jinxiang County, Jining City, will utilize leased existing factory buildings. It plans to establish three disassembly lines for graded utilization and two reuse production lines. The annual capacity will involve dismantling 50,000 sets of retired power battery packs and assembling 100,000 sets of graded utilization battery products.


【New Developments in Hunan Recycling Project】

Recently, the Xiangxiang Municipal People's Government in Hunan Province announced a planning scheme change for the 20,000-ton waste lithium-ion battery dismantling and recycling project and the 30,000 t/a battery-grade lithium carbonate project. The change, primarily involves optimizing the layout of production workshops, tank farms, warehouses, green spaces, parking spaces, and other areas. Notably, the 20,000 t/a waste lithium-ion battery dismantling and recycling project initiated its environmental impact assessment process as early as November 2024. With a total investment of 150 million yuan, the project will be constructed within the reserved Phase II area of the existing plant. Upon completion, it will possess an annual production scale for dismantling and recycling 20,000 tons of waste lithium batteries.


【Hubei 120,000-Ton LFP Black Mass Comprehensive Recycling Project Initiated】

Recently, the Huanggang High-tech Industrial Development Zone in Hubei issued the first environmental information announcement for the "Annual Processing of 120,000 Tons of LFP Black Mass Comprehensive Recycling Project" by Hubei Company. The project involves a total investment of 700 million yuan and is designed with an annual processing capacity of 120,000 tons of lithium iron phosphate (LFP) black mass.


【Jiangsu 12,000-Ton Lithium Carbonate Technical Upgrade Project Launched】

Recently, another lithium salt company has decided to undertake technological upgrades for its project. An announcement from the Haimen District Bureau of Data in Nantong City indicated that the "Battery-Grade Lithium Carbonate Production Line Green, Intelligent, Quality Improvement Technical Upgrade Project" by Jiangsu Company has been accepted. Located at No. 42 Daqing Road, Sanchang Industrial Park, Haimen District, Nantong City, the project has a total investment of 108 million yuan, including 6 million yuan dedicated to environmental protection.


【Shandong Adds 40,000-Ton Lithium Battery Grading and Recycling Project】

Recently, a Shandong environmental protection company announced the first environmental impact assessment public notice for its project involving the annual resource utilization of 50,000 tons of waste lithium batteries. With a total investment of 110 million yuan, the project will procure equipment including waste battery disassembly systems, battery performance testing systems, graded utilization systems, and recycling systems. It plans to establish one new graded utilization production line and two recycling production lines. Upon completion, the project will achieve an annual resource utilization capacity of 50,000 tons of waste lithium batteries.


【Latest Update on Hunan 10,000-Ton Battery-Grade Lithium Carbonate Production Project】

Recently, the Hengshan County People's Government website released the draft for public comment of the "Annual 10,000-Ton Battery-Grade Lithium Carbonate Production Project" by Hunan Company, marking the project's official landing in Hengshan and indicating an upcoming increase in lithium carbonate supply. The company has previously completed projects including Phase I of a new 200,000 t/a high-end active calcium oxide production line for new environmentally friendly materials, a 60,000 t/a high-end active hydrated lime production line, and a 100,000 t/a calcium hydroxide production line.


【Shandong 40,000-Ton Lithium Battery Grading and Recycling Project Approved】

Recently, the Zibo Ecological Environment Bureau published the acceptance notice for the environmental impact report of the 40,000-ton lithium battery grading and recycling project. The project plans to construct an R&D center, production workshops, warehouses, and other facilities. It will procure over 210 sets of equipment, including lithium battery pack disassembly lines, module disassembly lines, and individual battery testing and capacity grading systems. Upon completion, the project will achieve an annual capacity of 40,000 tons for lithium battery grading and recycling.


【12,000-Ton Waste Lithium Battery Recycling Project Approved in Heilongjiang】

Recently, the Hegang Ecological Environment Bureau in Heilongjiang Province announced the intended approval opinions for the environmental impact assessment documents of two projects, including the Hegang Waste Lithium Battery Recycling Project. The project, undertaken by Heilongjiang Company, involves a total investment of 190 million yuan. Located south of Guangyi Wood Industry, Nanshan District, Hegang City, it will be constructed in two phases. Phase I will establish one waste lithium battery processing line with an annual capacity of 6,000 tons (including 5,000 t/a waste NMC batteries and 1,000 t/a waste LFP batteries). Phase II will involve constructing five production lines within the factory buildings: three for waste cathode pieces and two for waste anode pieces. The total annual processing capacity for both waste NMC battery cathode and anode pieces will be 6,000 tons each.
