China Peak Season Sees Copper Demand Slip After Price Surge

During China’s usual peak industrial season for copper demand, a rapid price hike has triggered a drop in downstream manufacturing operating rates, resulting in a significant demand pull-back. Meanwhile, Chile’s copper regulator Cochilco has raised its average price forecasts to around USD 4.45 per pound for 2025 and USD 4.55 for 2026, highlighting persistent supply strain.
