According to the Mining.com website, Sitka Gold encountered several near-surface, high-grade gold mineralizations during drilling at its RC property in Yukon, Canada.
Hole DDRCCC-25-113, drilled in the Contact zone of the deposit, intersected 119 meters of mineralization at a depth of 15 meters, grading 1.09 grams per tonne gold. This included an interval of 10.7 meters at 4.1 grams per tonne gold starting from 24 meters depth.
"The initial results from the company's first diamond drilling program at the Contact zone are encouraging, indicating significant value in the high-grade gold sections," said Cor Coe, the company's CEO, in a statement.
Based on the latest drilling results, "we can add the Contact zone to our target inventory, demonstrating that the Clear Creek Intrusive Complex still has the potential to increase gold resources by several million ounces," he said.
A Year of Achievement
The results announced on the 12th expanded Sitka's exploration achievements for the year, following the company's first report of high-grade drill results in June. To date this year, the team has completed 32,000 meters of diamond drilling, with sample assays still pending for several holes, including those from the adjacent Pukelman target where visible gold was repeatedly observed in the core, the company stated.
Sitka announced on the 12th that the Contact-Pukelman zone remains open in all directions. To date, the company has defined a mineralized zone measuring 900 meters by 650 meters, extending to a depth of approximately 430 meters.
Assays Pending
Sample assays are still pending for 46 diamond drill holes from targets including Rhosgobel, Blackjack, Saddle, Eiger, Bear Paw, and MayQu.
The RC property is located within the Tombstone gold belt, approximately 100 kilometers east of Dawson City, covering an area of about 431 square kilometers. It is accessible via a secondary gravel road from the Klondike Highway, which is usable year-round.
Exploration on the property to date has primarily focused on intrusion-related gold systems.
Two Deposits
The results announced on the 12th also included hole DDRCCC-25-111, which intersected 20 meters grading 0.54 grams per tonne gold at a depth of 295 meters. A third hole, DDRCCC-25-112, intersected 11 meters grading 1.06 grams per tonne gold at 182 meters depth.
The current resource at RC is limited to two zones: Blackjack and Eiger.
The Blackjack zone contains an indicated resource of 40 million tonnes of ore grading 1.01 grams per tonne gold, equating to 1.29 million ounces of gold. The inferred ore resource is estimated at 34.6 million mt with a gold grade of 0.94 g/mt, equivalent to a gold resource of 1.04 million ounces.
The Eagle deposit contains an inferred ore resource of 27.4 million mt with a gold grade of 0.5 g/mt, equivalent to a gold resource of 440,000 ounces.
