[SMM Domestic Auto Market Production and Sales Data Update] China's new energy vehicles (NEVs) reached a significant milestone in October, with their sales proportion exceeding half for the first time. According to data released by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM), the share of NEV sales in total new auto sales surpassed 50% for the first time that month, specifically reaching 51.6%. In October, NEV production and sales reached 1.772 million units and 1.715 million units, respectively, up 21.1% YoY and 20% YoY. Given that the NEV purchase tax will be halved next year, CAAM proposed that the automotive trade-in policy should continue to be optimized next year to stabilize market expectations.
