Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Dongfeng Nissan has set November 13 as the start date for pre-sales of the N6, the company's first plug-in hybrid sedan, signaling the brand's next step into China's increasingly competitive PHEV (plug-in hybrid electric vehicle) market.
The new model is expected to be priced between 120,000 yuan and 150,000 yuan, and is scheduled to hit the market later this quarter. The launch marks a pivotal move as the company expands its electrified lineup beyond BEVs (battery electric vehicles) and REEVs (range-extended electric vehicles).
The N6 carries over the minimalist styling first introduced on the N7, featuring split headlights and a full-width LED light bar that reflect Nissan's V-Motion design language. Its fastback profile and flush door handles add a cleaner, more aerodynamic look. Buyers can choose from a wide color palette including silver, black, white, grey, gold, and purple.
Measuring 4,831mm long and 1,885mm wide, the N6 stretches to a 2,815mm wheelbase. That extra length translates into noticeably more rear legroom, an increasingly important metric for family and ride-hailing buyers in China.
A major selling point of the N6 is its AI-centric cockpit. The system integrates the iFlytek Spark Large Model with DeepSeek-R1 reasoning capabilities, enabling offline voice interactions, continuous dialogues, and multi-semantic processing. A 15.6-inch 2.5K center display anchors the cabin, which supports HUAWEI HiCar, ICCOA Carlink, and Apple CarPlay. The interior comes in light beige or black themes, and its column-mounted shifter frees up space for an open storage shelf beneath the center console.
Power comes from a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated engine paired with an electric motor, delivering up to 75kW and 155kW respectively. Its 21.1-kWh LFP battery enables a CLTC battery-powered range of more than 150km. With a full tank and full charge, the N6 can travel more than 1,200km, while fuel consumption in depleted-battery mode stands at 4.3 L/100 km.
Positioned in the segment priced from 120,000 yuan to 150,000 yuan, the N6 will compete head-on with high-volume PHEVs such as BYD's Qin L DM-i and Geely's Galaxy A7. As Nissan's most significant PHEV push to date, the model's reception during the pre-sale phase will likely shape the brand's broader strategy in China's fast-shifting new energy vehicle (NEV) market.
