BUMI Acquires 45% Stake in PT Laman Mining, Eyes 55% in Alumina Project

[SMM Aluminum Express News] PT Bumi Resources Tbk (BUMI) is acquiring a 45% stake in bauxite miner PT Laman Mining for US$59.1 million. The deal, signed with controlling shareholder PT Supreme Global Investment, involves two payment stages: an initial US$20 million deposit due this year, with the remaining US$39.1 million payable after conditions are met, targeting completion by October 30, 2026. This acquisition is part of BUMI's strategy to diversify into bauxite. Furthermore, BUMI plans to acquire a 55% stake in PT Supreme Alumina Indonesia, an alumina refinery project controlled by Laman Mining.
