Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On November 12, Great Wall Motor's ORA brand began presales for its latest model, the ORA 5 — a compact all-electric SUV. The model is available in five trim levels, with prices ranging from 109,800 yuan to 142,800 yuan, targeting the highly competitive compact EV SUV segment.

The ORA 5 continues the brand's signature "cat family" design theme, featuring a soft, rounded silhouette. Its front fascia sports circular LED headlights and a trapezoidal lower grille, giving it a playful yet refined look. Higher trims come equipped with a roof-mounted LiDAR sensor, paired with additional perception hardware to enable advanced driver-assistance features.
From the side, the ORA 5 bears a resemblance to the popular ORA Good Cat, maintaining smooth contours and traditional door handles. It rides on 18-inch wheels, with dimensions measuring 4,471 mm in length, 1,833 mm (or 1,844 mm) in width, and 1,641 mm in height, along with a 2,720 mm wheelbase. The rear design is minimalist, featuring integrated taillights that blend seamlessly with the rear window for a full-width lighting effect.

Inside, the cabin embraces a minimalist aesthetic with a two-spoke steering wheel, a digital instrument cluster, and a 15.6-inch floating touchscreen powered by Great Wall Motor's Coffee OS 3 system. Physical toggle switches are retained below the center console for key functions, alongside a wireless phone charging pad. The rear cabin includes independent air vents, a temperature-controlled storage compartment, and foldable rear seats for added versatility.
Powering the ORA 5 is a 150 kW electric motor paired with a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack supplied by SVOLT Energy Technology. Two battery options are available: 45.3 kWh and 58.3 kWh, offering a CLTC-rated range of 480 km and 580 km, respectively.
Positioned in the fiercely contested compact electric SUV segment, the ORA 5 will compete with rivals such as BYD Yuan PLUS and Leapmotor B10. It is also the first ORA model to adopt a numerical naming convention, signaling a new chapter for the brand. By integrating LiDAR and other intelligent technologies, the ORA 5 underscores the company's growing focus on smart mobility.
With presales now underway, the ORA 5 is expected to officially launch soon, expanding ORA's product lineup and strengthening its foothold in the mainstream EV market.
