The NIO ES6 remains the best-selling all-electric SUV priced above 300,000 yuan among Chinese brands — and is now the first model in that segment to reach this production milestone.

On November 7, NIO announced via its official Weibo account that cumulative production of the ES6 has surpassed 300,000 units. The NIO ES6 remains the best-selling all-electric SUV priced above 300,000 yuan among Chinese brands — and is now the first model in that segment to reach this production milestone.

First launched in December 2018 and delivered to customers from mid-2019, the NIO ES6 received a major upgrade in 2023 based on NIO's NT 2.0 platform. The latest version, hitting the market in May this year, is priced from 338,000 yuan for outright purchase, or from 268,000 yuan under the company's battery rental scheme. By May 27, 2024, cumulative deliveries of NIO ES6 had already surpassed 200,000 units.

The milestone coincides with a broader surge in NIO's overall performance. According to the company's delivery data in October 2025, NIO delivered 40,397 new vehicles during the month — a 92.6% year-on-year soar and a new all-time high. Deliveries included 17,143 units under the core NIO brand, 17,342 units from the company's mid-range brand ONVO, and 5,912 units under the company's small smart electric car brand FIREFLY. As of the end of October, NIO's total cumulative sales volumes reached 913,182 units, with the NIO brand accounting for 779,319 units of them.

Industry analysts view the ES6's success as evidence of NIO's deep commitment to the premium EV segment, as well as a reflection of China's ongoing shift toward higher-end new energy vehicles. The model's leap from 200,000 units to 300,000 units underscores its strong market resilience and loyal customer base in an increasingly competitive landscape.

Alongside the ES6's milestone, NIO also revealed that cumulative deliveries of the all-new ES8 have surpassed 10,000 units. As NIO continues to expand and refine its product lineup, the company's competitive edge in the premium market is expected to grow even stronger.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
