Recycling Industry Events This Week (November. 3-7)

This week's recycling industry events.

【Anhui Launches 20,000-Ton Waste Lithium Battery Recycling Project】

Recently, the People's Government of Taihe County in Fuyang City, Anhui Province, released the draft environmental impact assessment report for the "Waste Lithium Battery Material Resource Recycling and Reuse Project," marking a critical step for Taihe County in achieving a closed-loop new energy industry chain. A company in Anhui will invest 230.51 million yuan to establish a new project in the Fuyang Shoutai New Energy Industrial Park, capable of processing 20,000 tons of waste lithium batteries annually. The project focuses on recycling power lithium-ion batteries from vehicles, including both ternary lithium and lithium iron phosphate batteries. These batteries will be accepted in a 1:3 ratio and processed through a combination of cascade utilization and physical dismantling to maximize resource recovery.

【2,400-Ton Power Battery Recycling Project Launched in Yunnan】

Recently, the People's Government of Wenshan City in Yunnan Province released the draft environmental impact assessment report for the "Wenshan Scrap Vehicle and Waste Battery Dismantling and Recycling Reuse Project," representing a significant step for Wenshan in the field of resource recycling. This project, invested in by a local management company with 147.51 million yuan, will be located in the Jiamashi area of the Matang Industrial Park within the Wenshan High-Tech Industrial Development Zone. Upon completion, it will have an annual processing capacity of 20,000 scrap vehicles and 108,400 tons of renewable resources.

【20,000-Ton Waste Power Battery Processing Line Commences Operation in Hubei】

In recent years, an industrial group has continued to increase investment in Huangshi. The lithium battery recycling zero-carbon industrial park project is its fifth project in the Xialu District. According to the plan, the second phase of the project will involve the dismantling, fine disassembly, and cascade utilization of lithium batteries. Building on this, the company will further advance into the recovery and reuse of cathode materials and lithium battery production, thereby establishing a comprehensive industrial chain covering "recycling and processing—material regeneration—cascade utilization" for waste power batteries.

【120,000-Ton Waste Power Lithium Battery Comprehensive Utilization Project Initiated in Jiangxi】

Recently, the Ecological Environment Bureau of Xingan County in Ji'an City, Jiangxi Province, released the second information disclosure for the environmental impact assessment of the "Waste Power Lithium Battery Comprehensive Utilization and Silicon-Carbon Anode Material Manufacturing Project." This marks a significant step by the company in promoting the sustainable development of the new energy vehicle industry. According to the plan, the completed production line will have an annual processing capacity of 120,000 tons of waste power lithium batteries, including 40,000 tons of ternary lithium batteries and 80,000 tons of lithium iron phosphate batteries. Additionally, a new production line for 10,000 tons of silicon-carbon anode material per year and related supporting facilities will be established.

【400,000-Ton Waste Power Battery Capacity Project Launched in Anhui】

Recently, the Ecological Environment Bureau of Lu'an City issued a pre-approval announcement for the environmental impact report of the "Battery Cascade Decomposition and Reuse Center Project" by an environmental engineering company in Anhui. The project will establish a cascade utilization production line for waste power batteries with self-developed equipment. Upon completion, it will achieve an annual processing capacity of 400,000 tons of waste power batteries.

【120,000-Ton Power Battery Recycling Project Launched in Jiangxi】

Recently, the Xingan Ecological Environment Bureau in Ji'an City, Jiangxi Province, conducted the second information disclosure for the environmental impact assessment of the "Waste Power Lithium Battery Comprehensive Utilization and Silicon-Carbon Anode Material Manufacturing Project" by an energy technology company in Jiangxi. The project, with a planned investment of 2.055 billion yuan, covers an area of 202.72 mu. It will construct an annual processing line for 120,000 tons of waste power lithium batteries (including 40,000 tons of waste ternary lithium batteries and 80,000 tons of waste lithium iron phosphate batteries) through dismantling, crushing, and regeneration, along with a production line for 10,000 tons of silicon-carbon anode material per year and supporting utilities and auxiliary facilities.

【75,000-Ton Lithium Battery Material Recycling Project Launched in Hefei, Anhui】

On October 29, the environmental authority in Hefei City, Anhui Province, released the acceptance notice for the "Annual Processing of 75,000 Tons of Lithium Battery Material Recycling Project" by a renewable resource company in Anhui. The project will construct one dismantling production line, one battery cell crushing production line, three anode sheet regeneration processing lines, and one waste cathode sheet regeneration processing line to handle waste lithium iron phosphate battery cells, ternary lithium batteries, waste anode materials, and waste cathode materials. Upon completion, it will achieve an annual processing capacity of 75,000 tons of lithium battery materials.

【New Annual 80,000-Ton Battery-Grade Lithium Carbonate Project Added】

A company in Hunan publicly announced on October 30, 2025, a new project for an annual output of 80,000 tons of battery-grade lithium carbonate, scheduled for completion in 2028. Leveraging the newly acquired mining license for the large Jijiaoshan lithium mine, the project boasts both resource and technological advantages. This project represents a significant upgrade from the original 40,000-ton annual plan, marking the company's in-depth layout in the lithium battery industry chain.

【Battery Resource Recycling Base Project Launched in Chongqing】

Recently, the High-Tech Zone Management Committee in Tongnan District, Chongqing, released the first public participation announcement for the environmental impact assessment of the "Battery Resource Recycling Base Project" by a catalyst comprehensive utilization company in Chongqing. The expansion of the power battery recycling and regeneration production line will increase the battery cell line capacity to 4,200 tons per year and the lithium iron phosphate cathode material repair line capacity to 1,600 tons per year. This injects strong momentum into Chongqing's goal of building a leading power battery recycling and utilization industrial base in western China.
