Beijing (Gasgoo)- On Nov. 9, the AION UT super compact all-electric SUV officially hit the market with one trim level, priced at 89,900 yuan. The model is jointly developed by GAC Group, CATL, and e-commerce giant JD.com. A battery rental option is also offered at 49,900 yuan, with the vehicle sold exclusively through JD Auto, marking the first online-exclusive collaboration between the three companies.

To boost sales, JD Auto and AION are offering multiple limited-time incentives. The first 15,000 customers who complete purchase applications before Dec. 31 can enjoy both government and brand subsidies: 2,000 yuan per vehicle for the battery-rental option and 4,000 yuan per vehicle for full-vehicle purchases. For orders placed before Dec. 8, battery subscription users will have their monthly fee temporarily reduced from 499 yuan to 399 yuan, while JD.com's PLUS members can receive up to 2,000 yuan off battery-swap service fees. Buyers who join AION's battery-swap network will also enjoy free annual battery management (worth 699 yuan) and a complimentary 299-yuan inspection service.

The UT super retains the original AION UT's signature closed front fascia, four-point LED daytime lights, and sporty proportions. It measures 4,270 × 1,850 × 1,575 mm with a 2,750 mm wheelbase, and offers 16-inch aerodynamic wheels (17-inch optional). Inside, the cabin features an 8.8-inch digital cluster and a 14.6-inch center display powered by Huawei's cloud-based system supporting large AI models and seamless HarmonyOS, iOS, and Android connectivity.

Powered by a 100-kW front motor and CATL's Choco-SEB LFP battery, the UT super delivers 500 km CLTC range and supports 99-second battery swapping, blending affordability, intelligence, and convenience for young urban drivers.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
