Beijing (Gasgoo)- On Nov. 7, Chinese new energy vehicle maker Leapmotor opened pre-sales for its new all-electric compact coupe, the Lafa5, with prices ranging from 105,800 yuan to 131,800 yuan.
The model will officially hit the market on Nov. 28, while a high-performance Lafa5 Ultra version is scheduled for market release and delivery in the second quarter of 2026.
Breaking from Leapmotor's traditional alphanumeric naming scheme (e.g., C11, D19), the "Lafa5" name combines four letters symbolizing lifestyle, attitude, freedom, and aesthetics, representing the brand's younger, trend-driven identity. Positioned above the B-series, it serves as a new standalone product line aimed at young consumers.
Leapmotor said the Lafa5 embodies a sportier and more personalized character, offering upgraded configurations and advanced connectivity features. October data showed that the company delivered 70,289 vehicles, up 5.45% month-on-month and 84.11% year-on-year, underscoring its strong market momentum.
As a globally-oriented model, the Lafa5 will also enter overseas markets beginning in 2026, with differentiated specifications tailored to regional regulations and customer preferences.
