The goal is to deliver a more premium, technology-driven mobility experience.

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- From November 6 to 7, Zhu Huarong, Chairman of China Changan Automobile Group, led a delegation to visit Haier Group in Qingdao, where the two companies held high-level talks to further strengthen their strategic partnership and explore new areas of collaboration.

The visit followed a strategic cooperation agreement signed in July this year between Haier Group and Changan Automobile in Chongqing. Under that agreement, the two sides committed to leveraging their respective industrial strengths to accelerate joint initiatives across several key areas, including new energy, supply chain development, health and wellness technologies, and global brand building.

At the time, both companies outlined plans to co-develop a "vehicle-home ecosystem," which would integrate smart home and in-car scenarios, jointly develop automotive appliances, and build a full-chain cold storage logistics system. The partnership also extends to deeper collaboration along the automotive value chain, including co-development of new vehicle products, personalized modification services, and media integration. In addition, Haier and Changan aim to enhance their overseas service networks to support the global expansion of Chinese brands.

During this latest visit, AVATR Technology—Changan's premium intelligent NEV brand—announced a partnership with Haier's automotive service subsidiary, CARtech. The collaboration will center on AVATR's upcoming million-yuan-level flagship model, focusing on co-creation in product customization, seamless integration between vehicle and home ecosystems, and the joint development of in-car functions. The goal is to deliver a more premium, technology-driven mobility experience.

The two sides also discussed future areas of cooperation. Zhou Yunjie, Chairman of the Board of Directors and CEO of Haier Group, proposed integrating Haier's Casarte-branded home appliances—including air conditioners, refrigerators, and oxygen concentrators—into AVATR vehicles, further enhancing interconnectivity between home and car environments.

According to both companies, AVATR and Haier's CARtech brand will carry out joint R&D based on user needs to create customized automotive and home-interconnected solutions. AVATR's partnerships with Casarte and CARtech are expected to advance cross-brand collaboration and accelerate commercialization of their co-developed products.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
