Shandong Humon Launches Public Tender for 4,000 kg of High-Purity Tellurium Head and Tail Materials

SMM News, November 10: According to SMM, Shandong Humon Smelting Co., Ltd. has initiated a public tender today for the sale of high-purity tellurium head and tail materials. Official details indicate that the quantity is 4,000 kilograms, packaged in iron drums. The delivery method is buyer pick-up, with freight costs borne by the buyer. The buyer must complete the pick-up by November 23, 2025. The delivery location is Shandong Humon Smelting Co., Ltd. (No. 11 Jinzheng Street, Shuidao Town, Muping District, Yantai City, Shandong Province). Sales contact: Liu Xin, Tel: 13280982800. Currently, the official starting bid price has not been disclosed. The sale will follow a competitive bidding process, where the highest bidder wins. Buyers are required to submit their bids based on their own assessments. If the buyer’s bid does not meet the seller’s reserve price, the seller reserves the right to refuse the sale. To ensure timely submission of bids, the quotation form, a copy of the bidder’s business license, and invoicing information (with official seal) must be sent to 95186930@qq.com by 11:30 AM on November 11, 2025. Bidders should also promptly contact Humon personnel to confirm receipt.

Many market participants have noted that the recent strong performance and continuous rise in tellurium prices suggest that the final transaction price in Humon’s tender may also be high. This tender involves a larger quantity of high-purity tellurium head and tail materials compared to previous occasions. The final transaction result will, to some extent, reflect the demand for tellurium and could impact market trends and confidence. However, with the bidding period limited to just one day, it appears that the resource is in high demand, and the likelihood of a successful transaction is high.

Silicon Metal Market Review for January and Outlook for February
In January, the silicon metal market experienced a relatively loose supply-demand balance, with a theoretical inventory buildup of approximately 30,000 mt. In February, both supply and demand contracted simultaneously, and the market is expected to show a tight balance or minor destocking. The current high industry inventory still requires time to be digested, and the sustainability of destocking remains a key variable affecting price trends and market sentiment.

A plant in northern China is calling for bids for indium ingots and bismuth ingots
SMM, February 6 - According to SMM’s investigation of market information, a large smelter in northern China began public bidding for a certain quantity of indium ingots and bismuth ingots starting yesterday. Market sources indicate that the starting price for these indium ingots exceeds 4,000 yuan per kilogram, while the starting price for bismuth ingots is above 150,000 yuan per ton. The bidding results are expected to be announced before the Spring Festival. Market participants note that, given the clear trend of sluggish trading activity ahead of the Spring Festival, the timing of this bidding is not ideal. However, the relatively favorable starting prices have generated considerable market anticipation for the outcome of the bidding.
