[SMM New Energy] Investigative Report: ESS Battery Short Circuit Causes Tesla Charging Explosion!

Published: Nov 7, 2025 13:34
The Technical Safety Authority of British Columbia (Technical Safety BC) in Canada has released an investigative report on the Tesla charging explosion incident. The report concluded that the cause of the accident was the use of a third-party brand adapter that itself had safety hazards, with the root cause being an internal short circuit in the ESS battery of the charging pile. This ultimately led to a high-voltage arc flash explosion, resulting in damage to the vehicle, charger, and adapter.
