Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On November 5, Nissan Motor showcased a lineup of intelligent and diverse "first-of-their-kind" models at the 8th China International Import Expo ("CIIE"), reaffirming its long-term commitment to the Chinese market and advancing its "In China, For China, For the World" strategy.

The following day, Nissan Motor took another major step in deepening its presence in China by announcing the establishment of Nissan Import and Export (Guangzhou) Co., Ltd. during the expo.

The new venture, jointly funded with 1 billion yuan by Nissan (China) Investment Co., Ltd. and Dongfeng Motor Corporation—holding 60% and 40% stakes respectively. The automaker said it marks a strategic milestone for both partners on several fronts.

First, it becomes China's first import-export vehicle joint venture backed by a foreign automaker—underscoring Nissan's commitment to strengthening local innovation and leveraging China as a key pillar of its global operations.

Second, it marks a significant step in Nissan's plan to transform its China operations into a global hub for new energy vehicle (NEV) research, development, and exports.

Third, by combining China's mature NEV and smart technology supply chains with Nissan's longstanding strengths in safety, reliability, and comfort, the new venture aims to develop globally competitive products for customers worldwide.

"China is not only the world's largest auto market but also the innovation engine driving the global industry's transformation," said Stephen Ma, Member of Nissan's Global Executive Committee, Chairman of Nissan China, and President of Dongfeng Motor Company Limited. "We are fully committed to China—building cars for Chinese consumers at 'China speed,' while also connecting our expertise to the world to serve global customers."

Mr. Ma noted that Nissan and Dongfeng established their joint venture 22 years ago. The creation of the new import-export company, he said, extends this successful collaboration into new territory and represents a fresh model of joint value creation under Nissan's global strategy.

At the expo, Nissan also showcased the N7 and Frontier Pro PHEV, which will serve as the first batch of models to be exported from China to international markets in the coming months.

In total, Nissan Motor exhibited four models at this year's CIIE—the N7, N6, Frontier Pro PHEV, and the Altima equipped with the HarmonySpace cockpit. The latter three models are expected to be launched in China within the coming weeks.
