SMM November 05 News:
Highlights: Chongqing Talent focuses on the oxide electrolyte + in-situ solidification technology route, with semi-solid-state batteries already in mass production, and all-solid-state batteries achieving a laboratory breakthrough with an energy density of 720 Wh/kg. Bases in Chongqing, Anhui, and Hubei are under simultaneous construction. In partnership with Changan Automobile and Narada Power, the company plans to achieve vehicle installation and batch production of separator-free batteries in 2026-2027.

On November 03, 2025, Chongqing Talent New Energy Co., Ltd. and Hubei Huitian New Materials Co., Ltd. officially signed a strategic cooperation agreement to collaborate on adhesive materials for solid-state batteries.

SMM learned that Chongqing Talent's solid-state battery strategy follows the oxide electrolyte route, with multiple bases advancing simultaneously. Below are the details of Talent's solid-state battery planning and layout.
I. Technical Advantages: Oxide Electrolyte + In-Situ Solidification
The company adopts the "oxide electrolyte + in-situ solidification" technology.
In-situ solidification: A special liquid electrolyte is injected into the battery and then solidified internally through chemical or physical methods, forming a solid-liquid coexisting "gel-like" electrolyte phase. Compared to directly producing all-solid-state electrolyte films, this method offers production line compatibility and lower manufacturing cost and difficulty. The electrolyte is in a gel-like solid-liquid mixed state, avoiding leakage of liquid electrolyte.
High energy density: Its first-generation semi-solid-state batteries have achieved an energy density of 300-350 Wh/kg, significantly exceeding current mainstream high-end liquid lithium batteries (250-280 Wh/kg). The planned next-generation product aims for an energy density above 400 Wh/kg, even approaching 500 Wh/kg.
On April 03, 2024, the company announced the successful laboratory preparation of the world's first all-solid-state lithium metal battery with a single-cell capacity of 120 Ah and an ultra-high energy density of 720 Wh/kg. In November 2024, in collaboration with Changan Automobile, they jointly released a 25 Ah battery supporting 3C fast charging; this battery uses special separators and partial electrolyte, with a raw material cost reduction of over 10%.
II. Production Line Layout:

Chongqing Base: First semi-solid-state 0.2 GWh + 2 GWh
Phase 1 small semi-solid-state power battery manufacturing base: 0.2 GWh
Phase 2 vehicle-grade semi-solid-state power battery manufacturing base: 2 GWh
In Chongqing Liangjiang New Area, Talent New Energy established China's first automated production line for semi-solid-state lithium batteries, with an annual capacity of 0.2 GWh, mainly serving the high-end electric two-wheeler and motorcycle markets. In 2023, the company launched the second-phase project with a total investment of 1 billion yuan, planning a capacity of 2 GWh to expand into passenger vehicle power battery production and other application fields.
Anhui Base: 3 GWh + 7 GWh
Phase 1 vehicle-grade semi-solid-state power battery industrial park (under construction): 3 GWh
Phase 2 semi-solid-state/quasi-solid-state power battery industrial park (in preparation): 7 GWh
The Anhui Huainan base plans a total investment of 7 billion yuan, with a total capacity of 10 GWh, to be constructed in two phases.
III. Financing, Downstream Applications, and Patents
Financing: The company has completed multiple rounds of financing, with investors including well-known institutions such as CICC Capital, Country Garden Venture Capital, and Guoding Capital.
Downstream applications: Deep engagement and sample testing with EV and 3C enterprises. Its products primarily target high-end markets such as high-end new energy vehicles, drones, and energy storage systems.
Vehicle installation verification is planned for 2026; batch production of separator-free all-solid-state batteries is planned for 2027.
Other Cooperation Progress:
On September 26, 2024, the signing ceremony for Talent New Energy's 10 GWh power battery industrial base project was held at the Anhui Huainan Municipal Government Center.
On November 21, 2024, Chongqing Liangjiang New Area held a concentrated commencement and completion ceremony for projects in the fourth quarter of 2023.
On December 19, 2024, Chongqing Talent New Energy Co., Ltd. and Narada Power officially signed a strategic cooperation agreement on solid-state batteries.
On October 09, 2025, Hubei Province held a promotion meeting for major project construction in the fourth quarter of 2025, planning to commence Talent New Energy's solid-state battery R&D and industrialisation project.
