Beijing (Gasgoo)- On Nov. 3, GAC Group's new energy vehicle brand AION opened pre-sales for its first dual-power model, the i60, available in both range-extended electric (REEV) and all-electric (BEV) versions. Prices start from 126,800 yuan for the REEV lineup and 119,800 yuan for the BEV variant.

The AION i60 adopts a boxy, balanced exterior design. Measuring nearly 4.7 meters long with a 2,775 mm wheelbase, the SUV's proportions follow the golden ratio of 0.618. The rear features a through-type taillight design that enhances visual width, while the interior uses flowing curves and soft ambient lighting—32-color strips extending nearly four meters—to create a warm, home-like atmosphere.

The model is equipped with GAC's GSD intelligent driving assistance system, which supports 41 main scenarios and 392 sub-scenarios, including lane changes, construction zones, and complex highway conditions. Its AEB integrates 11 safety features such as pedal misapplication prevention, and the vehicle supports over 300 parking scenarios. Hardware includes a 3R7V sensor suite with cameras and radars.

Powered by GAC's in-house-developed 1.5ATK engine featuring the latest volcano combustion system, the i60 REEV version achieves a fuel-to-electric conversion rate of 3.73 kWh/L and a combined fuel consumption of 5.5 L/100 km when the battery is depleted. A 29.165-kWh battery provides 210 km CLTC pure-electric range and up to 1,240 km combined range. With 3C fast charging, the i60 can charge from 30% to 80% in just 15 minutes.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
