Shandong Humon Launches Public Tender for 4N Selenium and High-Purity Selenium Head/Tail Materials on November 3

SMM News, November 3: According to SMM, Shandong Humon Smelting Co., Ltd. has initiated a public tender today for the sale of 4N selenium and high-purity selenium head and tail materials. The available quantities include 2,500 kg of high-purity selenium head and tail materials and 2,000 kg of 4N selenium (the exact weight shall be based on the actual delivered quantity). Official details indicate that the products are packaged in iron drums, with buyer pickup as the delivery method. All freight costs are to be borne by the buyer, and transportation must comply with national regulations, using fully certified hazardous chemical transport vehicles. The buyer must complete pickup by November 23, with delivery at Shandong Humon Smelting Co., Ltd.

No official starting bid price has been announced. The tender will be awarded to the highest bidder, and buyers should submit bids based on their own assessments. If a buyer’s bid fails to meet the seller’s reserve price, the seller reserves the right to reject the sale. To ensure timely submission, please send the inquiry form, a copy of the bidder’s business license, invoicing information (with official seal), and the hazardous chemical operation license to 95186930@qq.com by 11:30 AM on November 4, 2025, and promptly contact Humon staff for confirmation.

Market analysts noted that with selenium market prices showing steady upward momentum and maintaining strength, Shandong Humon’s release of this batch for tender could help gauge market demand to some extent. Given the relatively small quantity, the likelihood of a successful transaction is high. The final bidding price may reflect certain market conditions and provide guidance for the market. SMM will continue to track and report on the progress of the tender.

Silicon Metal Market Review for January and Outlook for February
In January, the silicon metal market experienced a relatively loose supply-demand balance, with a theoretical inventory buildup of approximately 30,000 mt. In February, both supply and demand contracted simultaneously, and the market is expected to show a tight balance or minor destocking. The current high industry inventory still requires time to be digested, and the sustainability of destocking remains a key variable affecting price trends and market sentiment.

A plant in northern China is calling for bids for indium ingots and bismuth ingots
SMM, February 6 - According to SMM’s investigation of market information, a large smelter in northern China began public bidding for a certain quantity of indium ingots and bismuth ingots starting yesterday. Market sources indicate that the starting price for these indium ingots exceeds 4,000 yuan per kilogram, while the starting price for bismuth ingots is above 150,000 yuan per ton. The bidding results are expected to be announced before the Spring Festival. Market participants note that, given the clear trend of sluggish trading activity ahead of the Spring Festival, the timing of this bidding is not ideal. However, the relatively favorable starting prices have generated considerable market anticipation for the outcome of the bidding.
