Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Leapmotor achieved a new monthly sales record in October, delivering 70,289 vehicles — a year-on-year surge of more than 84%. It was the first time the Chinese new energy vehicle (NEV) maker surpassed the 70,000-unit mark, continuing a strong upward trend that began in March this year.

On October 16, Leapmotor announced singer and actor Fei Xiang as its first brand ambassador, representing the company's flagship D series. The announcement coincided with the official debut of the new D platform — a culmination of Leapmotor's decade-long pursuit of in-house innovation. The platform integrates six major technological pillars, covering extended-range and 1,000-volt pure-electric systems, intelligent driving, performance control, safety, and comfort.

Just days later, on October 19, Leapmotor unveiled the D19 — the first model built on the D platform. Positioned as a premium intelligent SUV, the D19 represents the brand's next step upmarket and is now open for early reservations.

Earlier in the month, the company also revealed the interior of the upcoming Lafa5 on October 15. The design carries forward Leapmotor's youthful DNA while elevating the sense of refinement and comfort across aesthetics, materials, and user experience.

Leapmotor has continued enhancing its software ecosystem through a series of over-the-air (OTA) updates rolled out across multiple models in October. The B10, B01, 2024 editions of the C10, C16, C11, and C01 all received new firmware upgrades, while the 2026 versions of the C10 and C16 launched their first OTA updates on October 13.

Looking ahead, Leapmotor will open pre-orders for the Lafa5 in November as part of its new product strategy aimed at personalization and style. The company also confirmed that the first model in its A series — the A10 — will make its official debut at the Auto Guangzhou 2025, signaling the brand's continued expansion across multiple market segments.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
