Copper Cathode Rod Firms to Cut Production Next Week Amid Inventory Buildup

Due to a notable inventory buildup at copper cathode rod enterprises this week (October 24–October 30), several sample enterprises will adjust their production pace next week to destock. The operating rate is expected to drop to 56.94% next week (October 31–November 6), down 3.5 percentage points MoM and down 11.97 percentage points YoY.

Ivanhoe Mines Updates Production Guidance for Kamoa-Kakula Copper Project

Ivanhoe Mines has issued its latest production guidance. Its Kamoa-Kakula project is expected to produce 290,000 to 330,000 metric tons of copper in anode form in 2026, and 380,000 to 420,000 metric tons in 2027. This represents a reduction of 90,000 metric tons compared to the previous production guidance of 380,000 to 420,000 metric tons for 2026.
