Beijing Hyundai's EO compact all-electric SUV hits market with up to 722 km range

On October 29, Beijing Hyundai officially put the EO, a new compact all-electric SUV, onto the market, introducing three variants priced between 119,800 yuan and 149,800 yuan.

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On October 29, Beijing Hyundai officially put the EO, a new compact all-electric SUV, onto the market, introducing three variants priced between 119,800 yuan and 149,800 yuan.

The EO marks Beijing Hyundai's first model built on Hyundai's E-GMP BEV-dedicated platform. Positioned as a compact SUV, the vehicle integrates Qualcomm's 8295 digital cockpit chip and offers both front-wheel and all-wheel drive options. Under CLTC testing standards, the EO delivers a maximum range of up to 722 kilometers on a single charge.

Visually, the EO departs from Beijing Hyundai's previous design language, adopting a sleeker, more futuristic aesthetic. The front fascia features a narrow headlight cluster with four-matrix LED elements, complemented by a full-width LED daytime running light that emphasizes the vehicle’s high-tech character.

Along the sides, the EO sports a clean, coupe-like silhouette achieved through hidden A-, B-, and C-pillars. The gunmetal-gray D-pillar flows seamlessly into the rear spoiler, enhancing the SUV's dynamic and sporty appearance.

Measuring 4,615 mm in length, 1,875 mm in width, and 1,675 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,750 mm, the EO offers a balanced stance typical of modern compact SUVs. Customers can choose from seven body colors, including Mountain Twilight Purple, Pearl White, Pearl Black, Matte White, Cyber Silver, Turquoise Blue, and Camouflage Gray.

Inside, the EO features a tiered dashboard layout with a two-tone, three-spoke multifunction steering wheel. A 27-inch 4K dual-screen setup connects the central infotainment display with a passenger-side entertainment screen. Notably, the traditional instrument cluster has been replaced with a head-up display system that projects driving information directly onto the windshield for a cleaner, more immersive cockpit experience.

The EO adopts a column-mounted gear selector to free up space on the center console, which houses generous storage compartments and a wireless smartphone charging pad.

Powertrain options include both single- and dual-motor configurations. The single-motor setup delivers up to 160 kW of power, while the dual-motor version boosts output to 233 kW for enhanced performance. Customers can also choose between two lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery packs—64.2 kWh or 88.1 kWh—depending on their range and driving needs.
