Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On October 27, IM Motors announced that preorders for its new flagship SUV, the IM LS9, will officially open on November 4, with market launch scheduled for the fourth quarter of this year. The large SUV, which made its debut earlier this year, will be equipped with a high-performance version of the brand's "Hengxing" (translating to "Stellar") super range-extended hybrid system and the next-generation "Agile Lizard" digital chassis platform.
The IM LS9 introduces a fresh design language for the brand. Its front fascia features a distinctive light strip running across the width of the vehicle, complemented by vertically arranged headlights on both sides that enhance visual recognition. At the rear, a full-width taillight mirrors the front design, giving the SUV a cohesive and futuristic appearance. Measuring 5,279 mm in length, 2,000 mm in width, and 1,806 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,160 mm, the IM LS9 firmly positions itself in the large SUV segment.
Inside, the LS9 features a six-seat configuration and debuts IM Motors' self-developed 4D mechanical massage seats, offering a variety of massage modes that simulate real hand techniques such as kneading for greater comfort during long drives. The SUV also comes with a premium B&O sound system, an intelligent air purification setup for the cabin, and an "outdoor luxury" package designed for leisure and camping scenarios—highlighting the model's versatility beyond urban use.
Powering the IM LS9 is the "Hengxing" super range-extended system, which pairs a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine with an electric motor and a 66 kWh battery pack. The SUV can travel more than 450 km on battery power alone and offers a combined range exceeding 1,500 km. The new Agile Lizard digital chassis further enhances handling precision and ride comfort, ensuring stability even at high speeds.
Additional details about the IMLS9 will be released in the coming weeks as the vehicle approaches its market debut.
