Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On October 24, 2025, Unity China and Chinese new energy vehicle (NEV) manufacturer Leapmotor officially signed a strategic cooperation agreement, marking the beginning of a long-term partnership between the two companies.
Under the agreement, the two companies will work closely on next-generation intelligent cockpit systems, focusing on innovation in human-machine interaction. The collaboration seeks to integrate interaction more seamlessly into the in-car environment through perception, cognition, and predictive technologies. By combining the Unity engine with large-scale AI models and biosensors, the partnership aims to accelerate the advancement of multimodal interaction technologies and their real-world deployment across vehicle scenarios.
Leapmotor has emerged as one of the most dynamic players in China's NEV market, achieving remarkable growth in recent years. From January to September 2025, the company delivered around 396,000 vehicles. Several of its models, including the C10 and C16, already feature 3D human-machine interfaces (HMI) powered by Unity technology.
Building on its deep experience in smart cockpit development, Unity China has established a distinct edge in 3D HMI technology through its "Unity Engine Vehicle Edition." Core components such as the URAS unified rendering system and App View architecture allow developers to handle increasingly complex interface scenarios and visualization requirements, offering automakers more flexibility and performance in HMI design.
Looking ahead, Unity China and Leapmotor plan to deepen their collaboration around the integration of AI and real-time 3D technology within HMI systems. Their joint efforts will focus on transitioning from manual interaction to natural, perception-driven engagement; developing "invisible" or frictionless interactions that reduce the need for user input; evolving from multi-screen displays to fully immersive spatial experiences; and advancing vehicle intelligence from passive response to proactive service. Together, they also aim to build a unified technology foundation connecting in-vehicle and cloud-based systems, setting a new benchmark for the evolution of intelligent cockpits.
