Against this backdrop, ABB has invested 14 billion rupees in India to develop motor manufacturing operations and successfully launched IE5 motors without rare earth elements suitable for industrial applications. These motors have a rated power range of 45 kW to 1,000 kW and can operate on both direct-on-line (DOL) systems and variable frequency drive (VFD) systems.
