Shanghai (Gasgoo)- NIO announced on October 22 via its Weibo account that it will deliver the 300,000th unit of its ES6 SUV this November.

First launched in December 2018 and delivered to customers starting in June 2019, the ES6 has long been one of NIO's core models. The SUV received a major overhaul in 2023, migrating to the brand's NT 2.0 platform. The refreshed ES6 officially hit the market this May, priced from 338,000 yuan for full purchase or 268,000 yuan under the BaaS (Battery-as-a-Service) plan.

Visually, the new NIO ES6 maintains the clean, athletic design of its predecessor while refining several key details. The front adopts a closed grille layout paired with split headlamps, where the lower beams now feature subtly reshaped outlines. The SUV also comes equipped with ADB adaptive multi-beam headlights that integrate data from LiDAR, millimeter-wave radar, and cameras to deliver more precise lighting distribution. A new high-visibility warning feature enhances illumination in high-risk driving scenarios.

Inside the cabin, NIO has refined the steering wheel controls for improved ergonomics and replaced the traditional gear selector with a column-mounted shifter. This redesign frees up space beneath the center console, allowing for a tidier layout that accommodates a wireless charging pad and dual cup holders. A new "Alpine Grey" interior color option further broadens the customization choices for buyers.

The new ES6 is powered by NIO's AQUILA Super Sensing system, featuring the NX9031 chipset and a total of 29 high-precision sensors — including a LiDAR unit, a 4D imaging radar, 12 ultrasonic radars, and 11 cameras. Together, they enable lane-level navigation assistance usable on virtually all roads across China, marking a significant step toward full-scenario intelligent driving.

Under the hood, all ES6 variants come with a dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup that delivers a combined output of 360 kW and 700 Nm of torque. The SUV sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds and reaches a top speed of 200 km/h. Buyers can choose between 75 kWh and 100 kWh battery packs, offering CLTC-rated ranges of 510 km and 650 km, respectively. As with all NIO models, the ES6 supports both fast charging and the company’s signature battery swap service.
