On October 22, FORVIA HELLA announced the launch of its first smart dimming glass controller in the Chinese market.

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On October 22, FORVIA HELLA announced the launch of its first smart dimming glass controller in the Chinese market. The product entered mass production in August and has already been adopted by several major Chinese automakers. This milestone strengthens FORVIA HELLA's portfolio in automotive body electronics, signaling the company's deepening localization strategy in China.

The new controller is designed to address the evolving needs of modern in-vehicle comfort, convenience, and privacy management.

One of its key advantages lies in seamless comfort control. With a single touch, users can adjust the glass transparency smoothly and continuously, switching effortlessly between clear, shaded, UV-protected, or privacy modes. The system adapts to environmental conditions and personal preferences—whether under soft morning light or intense midday sun—ensuring optimal visibility and lighting balance at all times.

The controller also enhances energy efficiency and cabin comfort by blocking ultraviolet and infrared radiation, reducing cabin temperatures and the need for air conditioning. This contributes to lower energy consumption and extended driving range for electric vehicles while improving overall climate comfort and cabin intelligence.

Privacy is another major focus. The system's adjustable side-window privacy mode allows passengers to enjoy scenic views without compromising discretion—ideal for business discussions, family trips, or moments of quiet relaxation. The feature creates an enclosed, secure atmosphere that enhances both comfort and elegance. Additionally, the controller supports integration with human–machine interaction and in-cabin entertainment systems, expanding its role beyond basic functionality to enrich the overall digital cockpit experience.

Performance and reliability were also key priorities in development. The system supports intelligent brightness adjustment and independent multi-zone control within the same vehicle. Its compact design allows for easy installation, while built-in real-time monitoring and automatic protection mechanisms ensure stable operation and long-term durability. Together, these features guarantee safety and a dependable user experience under varied driving conditions.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
