Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Joyson Electronics has announced a new wave of global contracts in the field of automotive intelligence and electrification, with total lifetime orders estimated at around 5 billion yuan, according to a post on the company's WeChat account updated Oct. 20.

The company will supply products such as intelligent assisted driving domain controllers and multi-screen smart cockpit systems — equipped with features like active privacy protection — for several automakers worldwide. Mass production for these projects is expected to begin in late 2026.

As the global automotive industry rapidly pivots toward electrification and intelligence, China's new energy vehicle (NEV) penetration continues to surge, becoming a major driver of market growth. Intelligent functions such as advanced driver assistance and smart cockpit systems have evolved from optional add-ons to key differentiators shaping automakers' competitiveness and consumers' purchasing decisions. At the same time, autonomous and assisted driving technologies are moving beyond limited pilot programs into broader commercial deployment.

According to McKinsey, China is on track to become the world's largest autonomous driving market by 2030, with self-driving vehicle sales and related mobility services expected to generate more than US$500 billion in revenue.

In recent years, Joyson Electronics has been at the forefront of the industry's smart transformation, investing heavily in R&D to develop intelligent driving controllers, cockpit-driving integration systems, connected vehicle technologies, and next-generation smart cockpits based on both domestic and international chip platforms. These innovations have steadily strengthened the company's position in the intelligent automotive supply chain.

Since early 2025, Joyson Electronics has significantly accelerated its market expansion in core segments such as advanced driver assistance and multi-display smart cockpit systems. The company has secured a series of major program designations, steadily growing its market share. It disclosed that its total smart vehicle-related orders now exceed 20 billion yuan, including 15 billion yuan in global contracts from two leading automakers for cross-domain central computing units (CCUs) and intelligent connectivity products.

The latest round of orders underscores Joyson Electronics' core competitiveness in the intelligent automotive sector and lays a strong foundation for sustained growth in the coming years. It also highlights the company's role in driving the broader digital and intelligent transformation of China's automotive electronics industry.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
