Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Chinese AI pioneer SenseTime has entered a strategic partnership with semiconductor firm Cambricon to co-develop next-generation artificial intelligence infrastructure and strengthen the domestic AI ecosystem, according to the announcement SenseTime issued on Oct. 15.

The partnership seeks to integrate SenseTime's strengths in large-model research and AI platform development with Cambricon's expertise in intelligent computing chips and high-performance processing systems. The companies plan to collaborate on multiple fronts, including software-hardware integration, vertical industry applications, and the global expansion of homegrown AI technology.

At the heart of the collaboration are three major initiatives. The first focuses on optimizing chip and computing compatibility—specifically, enhancing the performance synergy between Cambricon's cloud-based inference chips and SenseTime's large-scale models, and developing new service solutions for the computing power market.

The second area targets enterprise and industry applications. The two companies will jointly create integrated AI systems that combine Cambricon's smart chip technology with SenseTime's algorithmic advantages, helping accelerate digital transformation across key sectors.

The third initiative emphasizes regional collaboration. By pooling local industrial resources and establishing regional innovation networks, the partners aim to build a sustainable ecosystem that promotes the widespread adoption of AI technologies across China.

Through this alliance, SenseTime and Cambricon hope to set new benchmarks for AI infrastructure innovation, while reinforcing China's position in the global race to develop scalable, energy-efficient, and industry-ready artificial intelligence systems.
