JD.com, CATL, GAC team up to launch new vehicle model during Double 11 shopping festival

The model will make its official debut during JD.com's Double 11 shopping festival and will be sold exclusively through JD's platform.

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On October 14, during JD.com's "11.11 Surprise Open Day," JD Auto announced a partnership with CATL's subsidiary Contemporary Amperex Energy Service Technology Ltd. (“CAES”) and GAC Group to jointly launch a new vehicle model, which is dubbed by the companies as "National Good Car". The model will make its official debut during JD.com's Double 11 shopping festival and will be sold exclusively through JD's platform.

The collaboration combines CATL's advanced battery technology and "Choco-Swap" battery swap ecosystem with GAC Group's expertise in intelligent manufacturing, safety systems, and global R&D capabilities, as well as JD.com's strength in consumer insight and omnichannel auto retail services. Designed to meet genuine user needs, the "National Good Car" aims to strike a balance among four key aspects—modern styling, safety performance, driving range, and affordability.

In addition to product development, the collaboration also seeks to drive digital and intelligent transformation across the entire automotive value chain—from production and sales to aftersales service. The model will be available for purchase at JD.com's new "CATL Chocolate Official Flagship Store" during the Double 11 event.

JD.com is also inviting users to participate in co-creating the vehicle through an interactive campaign on its app, where consumers can provide feedback and ideas for the upcoming model.

The initiative introduces a "one-stop customization" model, enabling buyers to personalize their cars with options such as custom covers, accessories, and maintenance services, offering a seamless ownership experience from purchase to use—an approach aimed at making electric mobility more accessible to the broader public.
