Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On October 11, BYD officially put the long-range edition of its Han sedan, onto the market, introducing both DM-i (PHEV) and EV (BEV) variants. The Han DM-i long-range lineup includes four trims priced between 159,800 yuan and 189,800 yuan after subsidies, while the Han EV long-range edition offers three trims ranging from 173,800 yuan to 205,800 yuan.
The new Han retains its familiar exterior styling, continuing BYD's signature "LOONG FACE" design language that gives the model a strong visual identity. To add a sportier flair, BYD has introduced a new blacked-out styling package. The chrome trim across the front grille and lower air intakes now come in a dark finish, pairing especially well with the new "Weiyang Gray" paint to create a bolder, more dynamic appearance.
From the side, the car maintains its sleek silhouette with flush door handles and two-tone multi-spoke wheels that enhance its athletic stance. Measuring 4,995 mm (or 4,975 mm) in length, 1,910 mm in width, and 1,495 mm in height, with a 2,920 mm wheelbase, the Han remains positioned as a mid-to-large premium sedan. To appeal to more individualistic buyers, BYD has added three new exterior colors—Frost Gold, Pine Shadow Green, and Far Peak Blue. Each hue draws inspiration from nature: Frost Gold evokes the icy splendor of Jilin's winter frost; Pine Shadow Green captures the vitality of ancient Huangshan pines; and Far Peak Blue mirrors the crystalline brilliance of glaciers, lending the car an upscale metallic finish.
At the rear, the Han's long-range version keeps its full-width taillight design incorporating traditional Chinese knot motifs. The addition of blackened trim elements visually ties the rear design to the front fascia, giving the entire car a more cohesive and performance-oriented look.
Inside, the new vehicle's cabin receives several refined updates. The passenger-side dashboard now features a laser-etched brushed metal panel, while soft-touch materials with a "baby-skin" texture add a luxurious feel. Across all trims, BYD has adopted an electronic column-mounted gear selector for a cleaner and more modern layout. Comfort features have also been enhanced with a triad of upgrades—an intelligent hot-cold refrigerator, active noise-canceling technology, and an anti-motion-sickness system—elevating the driving and riding experience in terms of practicality, quietness, and comfort.
Notably, the Han long-range edition debuts the upgraded DiLink 100 intelligent cockpit, now integrated with BYD's Deepseek large language model. This enables new features such as seamless phone-car connectivity and a microphone-free karaoke mode. The intelligent ecosystem has also been expanded to connect with smart devices like Goodbaby child safety seats and pet seat systems, offering families a safer and more connected travel experience.
Under the hood, the Han DM-i long-range edition comes standard with BYD's fifth-generation DM hybrid technology, featuring a newly developed 7-in-1 power domain controller. This setup extends its battery-powered range to 245 km—enough for a full week of city commuting without consuming fuel. Even when the battery is depleted, fuel consumption remains as low as 3.44 L/100 km, while combined range reaches an impressive 1,560 km, effectively eliminating range anxiety for long-distance drivers. The Han EV long-range edition, meanwhile, adopts BYD's latest 8-in-1 electric drive system, delivering between 635 km and 705 km of range and a highly efficient power consumption of just 10.6 kWh per 100 km.
The Han long-range edition also benefits from BYD's DiSus-C intelligent damping control system, which works in tandem with a forward-looking road preview function to analyze conditions up to 15 meters ahead. It continuously adjusts the suspension damping in real time, ensuring stable handling across varied road surfaces. On the driver-assistance front, the DiPilot system supports more than 300 parking scenarios, with BYD pledging full safety coverage for parking operations.
