Beijing (Gasgoo)- On Oct. 10, Geely Auto Group announced that the GEELY STARRAY EM-i (known as the Galaxy Xingjian 7 EM-I in China) has officially rolled off the production line at its KD (knock-down) plant in Purwakarta, Indonesia.

The milestone marks Geely's latest move to strengthen localized manufacturing in Southeast Asia. Other models, including the GEELY EX5 (Galaxy E5) and the GEELY Xingyuan, will also begin production at the facility in succession.

Following its global debut in Australia in September 2025, the GEELY STARRAY EM-i will gradually launch in nearly 20 markets worldwide, including Indonesia, Thailand, South Africa, Mexico, and Italy, covering key regions across the Asia-Pacific, Europe, Latin America, and Africa.

Launched in China in December 2024 with a starting price of 109,800 yuan, the STARRAY EM-i measures 4,740 mm in length, 1,905 mm in width, and 1,685 mm in height, with a 2,755 mm wheelbase. The vehicle features the Flyme Auto intelligent cockpit system, enabling seamless integration between the car, smartphone, and cloud. It also offers SPA seats, a head-up display (HUD), 16-speaker audio, and a "Sentinel Mode" for parked surveillance, along with seat ventilation, heating, massage, and full-side curtain airbags.

Powered by Geely's hybrid technology, the STARRAY EM-i delivers a combined driving range of 1,420 km.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
