GAC Group posts 27.6% MoM jump in September sales

GAC Group announced its September sales results on Oct. 10. The automaker sold 173,000 vehicles last month, up 27.6% month-on-month (MoM), with all five major brands posting sequential growth.

Beijing (Gasgoo)- GAC Group announced its September sales results on Oct. 10. The automaker sold 173,000 vehicles last month, up 27.6% month-on-month (MoM), with all five major brands posting sequential growth. Exports reached 9,200 units in September, bringing the group's total exports for the first nine months to 92,000 units, of which self-owned brands contributed more than 85,000 units, up 16.5% year on year (YoY).

GAC Trumpchi sold 36,078 vehicles in September, up 3.8% from the previous year and 35.4% from August. Its MPV lineup recorded sales of 14,672 units (+36.7% MoM), while sales of SUVs reached 20,135 units (+29.7% YoY), exceeding 10,000 units for the eighth consecutive month. From January to September, sales of Trumpchi's hybrid and new energy models surpassed 57,000 units, growing 7% from a year ago.

The new energy vehicle brand, GAC AION, delivered 29,113 vehicles in September, representing a 7.7% MoM rise. Boosted by the August launch of the AION V Home, sales of the AION V lineup surged 256% MoM to 6,072 units.

As to joint-venture brands, GAC Toyota sold 71,220 vehicles in September (+7.8% MoM), resulting in a year-to-date volume of 567,515 units. Deliveries of the bZ3X totaled 9,017 units last month, hitting a record high and marking five consecutive months of growth. The Camry posted sales of 20,517 units (+24% YoY), the Sienna 8,168 units, and the Frontlander 13,715 units.

GAC Honda, on the other hand, sold 32,808 vehicles in September, which surged 60.7% MoM. Sales of the Accord lineup reached 15,792 units (+32.6% YoY), while the Breeze posted 12,953 units (+6.9% YoY).
