The transaction finalizes AVATR's acquisition of the minority stake from Huawei and further cements their long-term partnership in the smart vehicle sector.

Shanghai (Gagsoo)- On October 9, 2025, AVATR Technology announced that it had completed the third and final payment of 3.45 billion yuan to Huawei, marking the full settlement of its 11.5-billion-yuan investment for a 10% equity stake in Huawei's automotive subsidiary, Shenzhen Yinwang Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd. ("Yinwang" is Chinese pinyin).

The transaction finalizes AVATR's acquisition of the minority stake from Huawei and further cements their long-term partnership in the smart vehicle sector.

The collaboration traces back to November 2023, when Changan Automobile and Huawei signed an investment cooperation memorandum. Under the agreement, Huawei planned to establish a dedicated company focused on developing, producing, and marketing intelligent vehicle systems and components. Two months later, in January 2024, Huawei formally registered the new entity—Shenzhen Yinwang Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd.

In August 2024, AVATR Technology entered into a formal equity transfer agreement with Huawei, agreeing to purchase a 10% stake in Yinwang for a total consideration of 11.5 billion yuan. Following the completion of the deal, Yinwang's ownership structure was adjusted, with Huawei retaining 90% of the shares and AVATR holding the remaining 10%.

Under the agreed payment schedule, AVATR completed the investment in three installments. The first tranche of 2.3 billion yuan was paid in October 2024, followed by a second payment of 5.75 billion yuan in February 2025. With the final 3.45 billion yuan now transferred, the entire transaction has been settled in full as planned.

The acquisition represents a core element of the long-term strategic partnership between AVATR Technology, its major shareholder Changan Automobile, and Huawei's Yinwang unit. With the payment process now complete, the three parties are expected to deepen cooperation in the field of intelligent automotive technology, leveraging their respective strengths in R&D, software, and vehicle manufacturing.

The completion of this investment is set to further strengthen the collaboration between AVATR and Huawei. According to their joint roadmap, the two companies plan to co-develop 17 models across various segments—including sedans, SUVs, and MPVs—by 2030. Five upgraded models are scheduled to debut in 2026, underscoring their ambitions to expand product offerings and accelerate innovation in the intelligent electric vehicle market.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
