Waaree Energies Expands Manufacturing Capacity Amid Favorable Policy Changes

Waaree Energies Limited recently announced a major expansion plan totaling ₹8,175 crore across its three wholly owned subsidiaries, aimed at further strengthening its leadership in the renewable energy sector. The core focus of this expansion is a significant increase in lithium-ion battery production capacity. Its subsidiary, Waaree Energy Storage Solutions, will invest ₹8,000 crore to boost capacity from the current 3.5 GWh to 20 GWh, underscoring the company’s strong commitment to the energy storage sector. Meanwhile, Waaree Clean Energy Solutions plans to invest an additional ₹125 crore to expand its electrolyser production capacity from 300 MW to 1,000 MW, addressing the growing demand for green hydrogen. In addition, Waaree Power will receive ₹50 crore in funding to raise its inverter manufacturing capacity from 3 GW to 4 GW. The expansion plan has been approved by the board of directors, marking a rapid shift from strategic intent to concrete action.
