On October 7, the White House announced a partnership with Trilogy Metals, investing $35.6 million as part of the deal to acquire a 10% stake in the Canadian mineral exploration company, ensuring the advancement of critical energy and mining projects in Alaska.

Trump declared that the White House would overturn the Biden administration's veto of the Ambler Road project. The project aims to access the vast critical mineral deposits in the Brooks Range of northern Alaska, thereby launching key energy and mining initiatives. The 211-mile (340 km) road will connect a remote mining area with deposits of copper, cobalt, gallium, germanium, and other minerals.

Trump stated in the Oval Office, "This should have been up and running long ago, generating billions of dollars in revenue for China and providing us with abundant energy, minerals, and everything we need."

Trilogy Metals holds mining rights in remote areas of Alaska, including a joint venture with South32. The US deal also includes warrants to purchase an additional 7.5% stake in the Vancouver-based company.
