BYD posts 18.64% YoY growth in Q1-Q3 2025 vehicle sales

For the first three quarters of 2025, BYD Company Limited (BYD) sold a total of 3,260,146 vehicles, representing a year-on-year growth of 18.64%.

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- For the first three quarters of 2025, BYD Company Limited ("BYD") sold a total of 3,260,146 vehicles, representing a year-on-year growth of 18.64%.

Of the vehicles sold in the nine-month period, passenger vehicles (PVs) contributed sales of 3,218,862 units, which rose 17.63% from a year earlier.

Breaking down the Jan.-Sept. PV sales by powertrain solutions, battery electric vehicles (BEVs) accounted for 1,605,903 vehicles, indicating a 37.31% year-on-year jump, while plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) recorded a sales volume of 1,612,959 units, which climbed 2.94% over the previous year.

Besides, the company reported an overseas sales volume of 701,579 PVs and pick-up trucks for the first nine months.

In September alone, BYD logged sales of 396,270 vehicles, a year-on-year decline of 5.52%. Of those, PV sales reached 393,060 units (-5.88% YoY), including 205,050 BEVs (+24.31% YoY) and 188,010 PHEVs (-25.58% YoY).

In the same month, the company sold 3,210 commercial vehicles (CVs), which zoomed up 76.08% from the year-ago period.

Notably, BYD also announced that its overseas PV and pick-up truck sales amounted to 70,851 units in September, shooting up 107% over a year ago.

As for the September performance of each brand or product lineup, the sales of BYD's Dynasty and Ocean series totaled 355,774 units. FANGCHENGBAO, DENZA, and YANGWANG brands recorded sales of 24,121 units, 12,407 units, and 758 units, respectively.
