On September 30, Hesai Technology, a global leader in LiDAR R&D and manufacturing, said it will extend and deepen its cooperation with Xiaomi EV through 2026 and 2027.

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On September 30, Hesai Technology ("Hesai"), a global leader in LiDAR R&D and manufacturing, said it will extend and deepen its cooperation with Xiaomi EV through 2026 and 2027, continuing to serve as a key strategic supplier to the automaker.

Xiaomi Group is not only one of Hesai's major business partners but also a significant shareholder. The tech giant led Hesai's $374 million Series D financing round in 2021, providing crucial backing for its R&D and global expansion. Since Xiaomi EV's market debut, Hesai has been its exclusive LiDAR partner, supplying the technology behind the successful launches of the SU7 and YU7 models.

On September 15, 2025, Hesai announced a major contract with a leading U.S. robotaxi company valued at over $40 million. Under the agreement, Hesai will be the exclusive LiDAR supplier, delivering both long- and short-range units, with all shipments scheduled for completion by the end of 2026.

Hesai co-founder and CEO Li Yifan said the deal underscores global recognition of the company's technical strength, product reliability, and mass-production capability. He added that as the industry transitions from pilot projects to large-scale deployment, Hesai will continue to provide advanced LiDAR solutions that meet the highest safety standards for autonomous vehicle fleets.

Just one day after the robotaxi announcement, on September 16, 2025, Hesai made its debut on the main board of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, becoming the first LiDAR company with dual primary listings in both the U.S. and Hong Kong.

Founded in 2014, Hesai has built a reputation as a world-leading LiDAR developer and manufacturer. Its products are widely used in passenger and commercial vehicles equipped with advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), autonomous cars, delivery robots, automated guided vehicles (AGVs), and other intelligent robotics applications.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
