Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On September 29, Senior.Auto, a Chinese autonomous driving solutions provider, announced the completion of a B+ funding round worth several hundred million yuan.
The financing was backed by a mix of investment funds and industrial capital, including Zhengzhou High-Tech Industrial Investment Fund, Zhejiang Innovation Private Equity Fund Management, and Huarong. Proceeds will be directed toward R&D in driverless technologies and expanding market applications.
Founded in April 2020, Senior.Auto has positioned itself around a self-developed "vehicle-road-cloud" integrated network architecture. The company emphasizes high in-house development rates for key modules such as intelligent driving, edge computing, and autonomous chassis systems, reducing reliance on external suppliers while ensuring efficiency in system upgrades and adaptability. Its solutions span the full range of industrial logistics scenarios, from ports and bulk cargo to metallurgy, industrial parks, trunk logistics, and commodity transport. Headquartered in Deqing, Zhejiang, the company also operates R&D centers in Beijing, Zhengzhou, and Shanghai, creating a full-chain service ecosystem.
Since 2025, the company has sharpened both its technological and commercial edge. In Level 4 closed environments, it has expanded operations across containerized and bulk cargo transport, establishing long-term partnerships with more than 20 of the world's leading ports. In open-road applications, Senior.Auto was among the first to organize large-scale platooning for trunk logistics, deploying nearly 100 autonomous trucks in regions such as Baotou in Inner Mongolia, Tianjin Dongjiang, and the Yongjin Expressway—making it one of the earliest players to scale operations on public roads.
Senior.Auto has also gained a first-mover advantage in landmark deployments. It led the development of China's first automated general cargo terminal, the first full-process intelligent retrofit of a traditional port, a mixed-traffic autonomous railway station pilot zone, and short-haul autonomous driving within steel plants. Its solutions are now in use by major enterprises such as CNPC, Ningbo Port, Qingdao Port, Xiamen Port, and Sun Paper. Serving more than 100 clients, the company is the first in the industry to achieve large-scale commercial validation in mixed-traffic autonomous scenarios with stable operations. Annual business growth has remained strong at 30% to 40%.
