Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On September 29, Yu Chengdong, Huawei's Executive Director, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Consumer BG, announced via his Weibo account that deliveries of the AITO M8 have surpassed 100,000 units.

The model has also received a significant upgrade package this month, adding Huawei's ADS 4 system, a new "super privacy mode," and interactive smart headlight features.

The BEV version of the AITO M8 officially hit the market on August 26, offered in both five- and six-seat configurations with a starting price of 359,800 yuan. Within the first 24 hours of release, confirmed orders reportedly exceeded 10,000 units, underscoring strong market demand.

Dimensionally, the AITO M8 BEV mirrors the REEV variant, measuring 5,190 mm long, 1,999 mm wide, and 1,795 mm high, with a 3,105 mm wheelbase.

The exterior design largely carries over from the REEV model, with only minor refinements. The front bumper now features a black mesh intake in place of horizontal chrome trim, while a chrome strip continues to link the headlights across the front fascia. Air inlets flank both sides of the headlamps, and the roof retains its mounted LiDAR sensor, highlighting the vehicle's advanced driver-assistance focus.

Inside, the all-electric M8 offers five interior color schemes, with Amber Brown, Nebula Red, and Truffle Brown available as optional upgrades. The cabin features a triple-screen layout comprising a 12.3-inch dashboard, a 15.6-inch central display, and a 16-inch passenger screen. Powered by Huawei's HarmonyOS 4, the system allows seamless multi-screen interaction through simple three-finger swipes. A 68-inch AR head-up display further enhances the front-row experience.

Powertrain options include single- and dual-motor configurations using Huawei-built electric motors. The rear-wheel-drive single-motor version delivers 227 kW of output, while the dual-motor all-wheel-drive version produces a combined 387 kW. Both are paired with a 100 kWh ternary lithium battery from CATL. Under the CLTC standard, the single-motor variant offers up to 705 km of range, while the dual-motor achieves 655 km. Top speed is rated at 200 km/h.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
