Rainbow Rare Earths announced significant progress in test work at its Phalaborwa project in South Africa. The company informed investors that it has successfully added a cerium rejection step prior to the final separation circuit, which reduced the cerium content in the mixed rare earth product by approximately 65%. The company explained that this improvement is expected to enhance product quality while lowering capital and operating costs. Specifically, this step reduced the volumetric flow entering the final separation circuit by about 98%, significantly simplifying the downstream hydrometallurgical process and reducing water and reagent consumption.
