Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On the evening of September 25, during his annual keynote, Xiaomi founder, chairman and CEO Lei Jun unveiled the company's new "Xiaomi Custom Service" for its vehicles. The program is designed to create one-of-a-kind cars for buyers seeking something beyond the ordinary. Customers opting in must commit to at least 100,000 yuan worth of customization, with a deposit of 80,000 yuan and a 90-day decision window.

The service will run on a trial basis for a year, limited to a maximum of 40-unit customized builds per month. It currently applies to the YU7 Max and SU7 Ultra models, allowing buyers to combine bespoke features with standard configurations.

When the YU7 debuted, it was offered in nine standard colors. The customization program adds a first wave of five new finishes—Amethyst Purple, Racing Red, Sprout Yellow, Twilight Rose, and Matte Golden Pink. Each shade, Lei said, has been crafted using costly paints and advanced application processes to deliver striking visual effects.

Xiaomi also announced partnerships with global paint suppliers BASF and PPG, with plans to co-develop 100 new colors over the next three years.

Inside, the YU7 Max will offer two bespoke interior themes: Gentian Blue (blue and black) and Midnight Black with Fluorescent Yellow. Both use Alcantara upholstery with contrasting stitching, colored seatbelts, and optional ash wood trim for a premium, tailored feel.

Beyond paint and interiors, buyers can personalize wheels, brakes, and branding. Options include 21-inch double-layer forged rims, Brembo® four-piston calipers in custom colors, and exclusive emblems ranging from 24K gold with black or white ceramic, to gold carbon fiber, to smoked black finishes.

The sole Xiaomi Custom Service Center is located on the second floor of the company's flagship automotive factory showroom in Beijing. Customers can visit to explore the customization process and design a car that reflects their individual style.
