American Lithium Corp. recently announced a 22% increase in the planned investment for its Falchani lithium project in Peru, bringing the total to $847 million. This decision follows a late-August ruling by Peru's top court that confirmed the company's ownership of 32 concessions, resolving a legal dispute with Peruvian mining authorities that began in 2018.
With the legal issue settled, this sole lithium project in Peru has been relaunched. The company is now targeting a 2027 start for construction, with production of battery-grade lithium carbonate expected to begin after 2028.
