[SMM Flash: Permang Electronics Energy Factory Doubles Samarium Cobalt Magnet Manufacturing Capacity] Permang, the only samarium cobalt magnet producer in the US, is focusing on expanding the production capacity of its group member Electronics Energy Company (EEC)'s plant in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, to promote the development of the domestic supply chain for critical magnets and parts. Several months ago, the company initiated a multi-million dollar capital plan, which has already more than doubled the capacity. Additionally, Permang recently announced that it plans to achieve DFARS 252.225-7052 compliance for NdFeB and SmCo magnets by mid-2026, well ahead of the January 1, 2027 deadline. DFARS compliance refers to a set of cybersecurity requirements established by the US Department of Defense, which contractors involved in Defense Department contracts must meet to handle controlled unclassified information.
