China's Copper Cathode Imports Continued to Decline in August, with the DRC Remaining the Largest Supplier

According to online data from the General Administration of Customs, China's copper cathode imports in August were 307,200 mt, down 8.17% MoM and up 11.14% YoY. The Democratic Republic of the Congo remained the largest supplier with 126,300 mt, down 11.55% MoM and up 26.49% YoY. Russia was the second largest supplier with 25,200 mt, down 17.56% MoM and up 173.10% YoY. The SHFE/LME price ratio showed signs of improvement in late August, but remained unprofitable for most of the time.
