【SMM Aluminium Flash News】Data released by the Japan Aluminum Can Recycling Association indicates that Japan's demand for aluminum cans (including domestic and imported cans) will be approximately 2.091 billion cans in 2025, the same as the previous year and remaining at 2 billion cans for the tenth consecutive year. Domestic demand for aluminum cans will be approximately 2.07 billion cans, essentially the same as the previous year. Due to soaring prices, domestic beer demand for aluminum cans decreased by 1.3% year-on-year to approximately 840 million cans, continuing its downward trend. Due to the transition to new beverage categories, demand for aluminum cans for alcoholic beverages increased by 1.5% year-on-year to approximately 550 million cans. Regarding non-alcoholic beverages, despite strong performance from soft drinks due to seasonal factors, demand for aluminum cans for non-alcoholic beverages increased by only 0.3% year-on-year to approximately 680 million cans due to price increases.
