Accordng to SMM's knowledge, The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources of Indonesia, through the Directorate General of Minerals and Coal, issued Letter No. 1533/MB.07/DJB.T/2025 imposing administrative sanctions on 190 mining companies that failed to provide reclamation guarantees, ordering the temporary suspension of their operations. The decision was signed by the Director General of Minerals and Coal, Tri Winarno. The sanctions were enforced as a follow-up to three prior administrative warnings that went unheeded. The maximum suspension period is 60 days, and the sanctions may be lifted if the companies submit and obtain approval for their reclamation plan documents and place reclamation guarantees up to 2025. Tri Winarno emphasized that if the companies fail to fulfill their obligations within the stipulated timeframe, their mining permits may be permanently revoked.
