Shanghai (Gasgoo)- GAC Group and Huawei have officially unveiled Qi Jing, a new premium intelligent new energy vehicle (NEV) brand, marking a deeper phase of collaboration between the automaker and the technology giant. The launch was announced at a recent ceremony attended by Huawei rotating chairman Xu Zhijun and GAC chairman and general manager Feng Xingya.

Qi Jing will integrate Huawei's Qiankun smart vehicle technologies across its entire lineup, including advanced driver-assistance systems, intelligent cockpit features, and connected user ecosystems. These will be paired with GAC's strengths in electrification and large-scale vehicle production. The two companies say the partnership is designed to blend their complementary advantages and give the brand strong momentum in China's increasingly competitive EV market.

At the unveiling ceremony, Xu Zhijun called on both teams to shape Qi Jing into a high-end marque that brings intelligence into every vehicle, with the goal of making mobility safer and daily life more seamless.

Feng Xingya underscored the importance of the project for GAC's long-term strategy, describing Huawei not only as a partner but also as a benchmark and mentor in the group's transformation. He noted that GAC has created a dedicated company to anchor the brand while Huawei has assigned senior talent to the venture. According to Feng, the Qi Jing project will be given top strategic priority, with significant resources committed to ensuring its sustainable growth.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
